Why Popcorn?
Everyone I meet asks me the same question or variation of, “Why Popcorn?” “Why would I start a popcorn business?” “What caused you to start this?”
Well, first off, I LOVE popcorn. I always have. I remember coming home from school everyday and popping a bag in the microwave to eat while doing my homework. Anytime friends came over, we made popcorn. It’s an easy, buttery, salty, can’t stop munching on, treat.
Then I grew up, got married, had some kids, and passed the love on to them.

Working It
If my kids could eat popcorn all day, they would. But they were getting tired of the same flavor over and over again. So I researched different flavors to create and went to work. I learned how to make caramel popcorn first. Worked on it, worked on it, worked on it. Let me tell you, it’s not as easy as they say. I’ve yet to get the right caramel consistency. Which is why I don’t offer caramel corn. I won’t offer something I can’t deliver. But I’m still working on it, so hopefully soon.
Candied Popcorn
Candied corn was easier to learn. And it’s candy, so my kids were ecstatic! So I got to the point where I thought the popcorn was good enough to give out to the rest of my family and friends. I received great reviews and even more encouragement to sell my popcorn. That was where the idea was born. To make homemade candied corn, in small batches, the way people remember having it growing up.
That being said, the popcorn is homemade, and so we can not produce cheese popcorn, actually, we can not produce any flavors unless they are baked. As we get bigger and expand, or find a commercial kitchen to cook from, then we will add those flavors. I’m excited for that goal!
How do you say that?
The name Poppedify (pop-t-i-fi) was a spin off of Mystify, because the flavors leave you feeling mystified. That sounds silly now, but at the time it was great, thus we created a word! Once we had an official name the rest has just been blessing after blessing!
Our Many Thanks
We Thank God everyday for the opportunity He’s given us.
I would not be able to do any of this with out the help and support of my husband. He is the web designer, delivery guy, and constant encouragement when I feel like I can’t get anything right.
My Kids are my taste testers. They have the “Best job in the world!” They have probably tasted a ton of flavors that will never make it to the cutting board. Some of our creations where just down right flops.
We have a great team supporting us in this venture
- God
- All the in-laws (his side/my side)
- Brothers
- Sisters
- Extended Family
- All of our great friends who do what they can to help
Thank you all so much!
I couldn’t ask for more, well maybe just one more thing, what about some popcorn?
